Izumi is a cosy, authentic Japanese restaurant nestled in Caroline Springs, West of Melbourne, known for its deliciously rich ramen (LOVE) and generous bento box portions. My personal favourite is their tender Japanese diced beef in pepper sauce!! If you’re in the area, you need to check them out!

We went looking for ramen and found more than what we were looking for. The tuna tataki was a stand out for us. Crab salad was good. The ramen broth was nice except it had too much onions for my liking. The beef in black pepper or dark sauce..can't recollect the name was nicely balanced. The service was on point. Food came much faster than we expected so that's great. Highly recommend booking in advance though.

Absolutely loved our meal here! The menu is huge - so many options that we were excited before we even ordered. The bento was massive and such great value. We started with two entrées that were super tasty and a great way to kick off the meal, though for the price we did wish the portions were a little bigger. We tried three different ramens and were really impressed. Each broth had its own unique, rich flavour, far more interesting and distinctive than what you usually find at a small ramen bar. The restaurant space looks modest from the outside, but it actually fits around 25-30 diners comfortably. And the place was clearly buzzing; delivery drivers were coming in constantly, which says a lot about how popular their takeaway is. Portions overall were generous, and although the pricing feels a touch high for the area, the quality makes it worth it. We left absolutely full and happy. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes and definitely the desserts, once we have room! Updated 2/12: We came back the next day and tried few more items on the menu that we didnt have a chance to taste the night before. They all tasted delicious! I’ve added more photos from our second visit.
